If You See A Scarf Tied Up Around Your City This Holiday Season, Here’s What It Means
Christmas and the winter holidays are fast approaching and we are all preparing for seasonal celebrations with our friends and family. This winter season there is a new trend popping up all around the world – and it’s truly heartwarming!
Numerous people from all around the world are taking their old scarves, or making handmade scarves, and place them around the trees in the city parks, light poles and neighborhoods. The reason is not to make the trees more fashionable, the idea is to help homeless people in the upcoming freezing days.
The warm scarves are left with messages like – “I’m not lost! Please take me with you if you are cold. They are free for use to any homeless who needs them.
Many people took a part of this project such as Elizabeth Sammons, who has made plenty of scarves to help the homeless population.
“I think it’s a great thing to be able to do for the community. [There’s] a lot of people behind it, a lot of support. It’s really nice.”
It’s truly an amazing idea to make millions of homeless people little warmer this winter. If you like to learn more about this new winter trend, check the video below!
