17 F**ks You Should Stop Giving When You Are a Grown Woman

“Anytime you feel the pain, hey Jude, refrain
Don’t carry the world upon your shoulders
For well you know that it’s a fool who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder.” (Beatles)

Beatles knew that we humans create pressure and make our lives more complicated than it already is. We think, overthink, analyse, procrastinate, react and make things worse. We also take more than we can handle on our plates which leads to extra stress and anxiety. In these times, it is important to learn the subtle art of not giving a f*ck to petty things like:

1. What People Say

If you give someone else the steering wheel of your life, they will gladly use it. Everyone will always have an opinion and will try to impose it on you. It’s on you to decide if you want to live life on your terms or not.

2. Always Right

Who decides what is right and what is wrong? It’s okay to strive for perfection but you cannot always be right. Accept your flaws. Accept that you can go wrong for what is important is that you learn in the process.

3. Society’s Views About Appearing Perfect

Why run after something that can ruin your mood? You should strive for fitness and not the myth of the “perfect body”. Don’t give into unrealistic body standards and destroy your self-confidence.

4. Stilettos

If high heels make you feel confident and aren’t uncomfortable as hell to you, flaunt it! But don’t squeeze your foot and develop a back ache only to add a few inches to your height. You are beautiful the way you are.

5. The Past

“ The past can hurt. But from the way I see it, you can either run from it, or… learn from it.”

This famous dialogue from The Lion King sums it up. You need to learn to let go.

6. Gossips And Rumors

Oil your own machine. What good will you gather from poking your nose in someone else’s business? Focus on your journey instead of others’ failures. It’s a waste of time and energy.

7. Validation

The way you treat yourself is the guide for others. So if you are always criticizing yourself, not knowing your worth or hating yourself, others will add to the list. Don’t seek validation or approval to feel good, you do you.

8. Toxicity

You need to have your own personal space and positive environment. Anyone who makes you feel pathetic and affects your mental health should be out of your life. You mustn’t entertain toxicity at all.

9. Failing And Falling

Fear of failure is worse than failure itself because it prevents you from evolving. If you don’t succeed, you get to learn from that process and be better.

10. Partying

It’s okay to chill at home, binge watch shows and dig into ice-cream. Do whatever makes you feel great. If you want to party, do it, but don’t force yourself to do something you don’t want.

11. Likes On Social Media

Why attach value to something so petty? Why let a bunch of strangers dictate your life? Share something because you want to, not to seek validation.

12. Not Having Things

Practice gratitude and count your blessings everyday instead of harping on the things you don’t have. Be content and hustle hard but don’t be too harsh on yourself.

13. Revenge

Karma will serve those who deserve. You should let the incident be an eye opener and turn it into a productive one.

14. Possibilities

What ifs will only make you sad and stop your growth. Don’t live in the past because it will distract you. Don’t think about things that are gone and won’t happen, focus on the now.

15. Materials

A house isn’t a home without the people you love. Learn to live for moments and not material belongings as they have no value. You can earn money but not friends.

16. Regrets

In life we can’t always do everything right. There will be regrets but you can’t always dwell on them. Move forward.

17. Unrealistic Expectations

The only thing that matters in the end is your happiness. Don’t fall in the trap of being “good enough” or proving a point. It isn’t worth anything.

In short, live your life on your own rules. Stop caring about opinion that isn’t yours.
