20 Minute Gluten-Free Snack: Colorful Candy Sushi

Made from fruit roll-ups, puffed rice cereal and melted marshmallows, this delicious candy sushi is our top favorite snack. It is gluten free and easy to prepare, you will need only 20 minutes.

The Colorful Candy Sushi Recipe

Ingredients:

(This recipe makes 6 servings)

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 30 mini marshmallows
  • 2 cups puffed rice cereal
  • 4 ounces fruit roll-ups square 4-5 inch size
  • 6 in licorice halved crosswise

Instructions:

Heat a saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the butter and marshmallows and start stirring slowly using a wooden spoon. Mix until melted, and then remove it from heat. Add in the rice cereal and mix everything again well, until incorporated evenly.

On a work surface, place the fruit roll-ups and unroll them. On each roll-up, spread the cereal mixture equally, packing it down until flat. Place 3 licorice or fruit twists in the center of each roll-up. Roll tightly into a log shape, sealing the edges.  Then, trim off the ends with a knife and slice into 1/2-inch wide pieces.
