The Barber Who Gave Free Haircuts To The Homeless Was Gifted His Own Barbershop
Now there’s a beautiful story to read and tell. Although this world seems like a tough, cold and senseless place to live in, which can be totally true, there’s this human being who’s everyday’s job also consists of taking care of the homeless, by trimming and cutting their hair to keep them stylized and clean, and as happy as the situation offers. And his name is Brennon Jones.
The barber made tones of headlines when he started offering free haircuts to Philadelphia’s homeless, in which he stated: “Totally free. Feed ‘em, provide them with clothing, toiletries, the whole nine yards.”
Thanks to another barber, named Sean Johnson, who got motivated by the work of Brennon and decided to meet and talk, and pay everything forward. “It wasn’t about me giving a barbershop, when you look at the homeless and the things that they need, I looked at it as more. I built something and I want to see it keep going and I want to see it do a great thing,” Johnson said for Fox35 News.
“He said listen, I’ve got a building I want you to come check out. He said do you like this place? I said yeah I like it, he tossed me the key and said it’s yours.” This is what Brennon Jones told the news, from his side of the conversation they had. Reportedly, Johnson was planning to expand his barbershop down the street and then he met Brennon.
He also stated that he was experiencing difficulties because of the upcoming winter season, he didn’t know what was going to come and how long will he proceed to do his work in cold circumstances. “I just continue to rely on my faith, God brought me this far I know he’s not gonna leave me now,” he said.
He also told the press in January this year, when he started to give haircuts to the homeless people of Philadelphia: “So many people walk by and don’t even acknowledge these guys who need help. They look down on people they don’t even know. I just wanted to provide something different than some change or a couple dollars. I’m blessed with a talent, so why not share it and make someone’s day? I just wanted to give back.”
The new shop will open next month, with days set exclusively to give haircuts to the homeless.
