The 4 Types of Narcissists and How to Spot Them

Narcissists are experts at making themselves seem much nicer than they really are. The truth is that they only care about their own needs and they aren’t above taking advantage of you to satisfy their desires. These are the warning signs of a narcissist that you should stay away from:

1. You Know Nothing

One kind of a narcissist is the person who thinks that they know whatever there is to know about everything and that everyone else should agree with their views and ideas. You can tell who this person is when you go to a social gathering and see them going on and on about something without letting anyone else get a word in edgewise. They’re easy to spot because they prefer to do all the talking and I mean ALL the talking.

2. Prince Charming

The epitome of a smooth talker, this type of narcissist will charm you into liking them. They’ll keep complimenting you and doing nice things for you till you fall for them. But as soon as they know you like them, everything will change and they’ll expect you to keep falling over yourself to please them. When you first meet them, they’ll do all kinds of pleasant things for you. But when you begin to be nice to them, they’ll turn the tables completely.

3. Authoritarian

The second type of narcissist wants your admiration and they’ll charm you to get it. The authoritarian narcissist is similar except they want you to be scared of them. They’ll tear you down by pointing out the smallest of flaws and when they run out, they’ll make something up. This narcissist won’t stop till you’re literally begging them for their approval. They get their kicks out of making everyone else around them feel like they’re worth nothing at all.

4. Sexual Narcissist

For this type of narcissist, their value comes from the number of people they sleep with. They’re very good at playing with your feelings, so it is easy for them to make you believe you’re their one. But, this will last only till the time they get you into bed. Once they’ve slept with you they’ll just walk away without looking back. They don’t actually want a proper relationship so cutting you off will be easy. Be careful of the people who try to impress you by exaggerating their attraction toward you. You’re just another notch on their bedpost, so they don’t care about breaking your heart.

If you see these signs in anyone around you, please get out before it is too late. It is always better to be safe than sorry. Even the strongest of people can fall into a narcissist’s trap because many of them are very good at what they do. If you’ve fallen into that trap, don’t be hesitant to reach out.
