These 9 Things Women Usually Say When They Don’t Love Themselves
In a world where apathy reigns loose, the only thing that can stop things from falling apart is love.
Salman Rushdie had started his celebrated children’s novel Luka and the Fire of Life, “Naught but love makes magic real”. And it is true. Love is an inexplicable emotion, which despite all arguments against it, has triumphed throughout history.
But there is a way in which women are constantly told not to love themselves by society and this makes a lot of women doubt themselves to the point where they hate themselves. If you meet someone like that, you must help them get over their hatred for themselves. Look out for the following things, If she says them, she probably does not love herself enough.
1. “He only hurts me when he is angry”
The point is not when he hurts you; the point is he has no right to lay a finger on you at any given time. He could be furious, but it still does not make it right for him to hurt you in any way. Do not let him live it down and always make sure that he knows that you are as much of a human as he is.
2. “I deserve this”
Please understand that you do not “deserve” any pain or hurt just because you are you. You do not deserve any of this and should stop telling yourself that you do. Tell yourself how great you are and realise your worth.
3. “I should not say anything”
Your feelings and emotions are as real and valid as anyone else’s, so do not keep any of it in. Let it out and make yourself heard. You are as important as the other person there, so remember that and walk with your head held high. Hold your ground and say what you feel.
4. “I wish I was like ____”
It is not wrong to have idols. What is wrong is to want to lose your individuality to be someone else completely because you think that your real self in unworthy.
5. “Whatever you say”
Some things in life are about you and you should know that. You are allowed to put your opinions and wants on the table and have them heard and fulfilled without any guilt. It is not about anyone else, you live yourself and you have to make that clear.
6. “I’m not good enough”
You are. You are better than just good enough and nobody, I repeat, nobody has the right to tell you that you are not. You do not exist to serve other people’s needs.
7. “Yes”
Take a stand and say no when you must. It is not wrong and you have all liberty to say it. Do not do anything that makes you uncomfortable just because you do not want to upset other people.
8. “I cannot do it”
There is nothing in the world that you cannot do. Quieten the negative voices and take the plunge- you can.
9. “Do you love me?”
You must stop asking other people if they love you and stop focussing on that. You must focus on loving yourself first.
