7 Ways That Make Your Single Heart Ache

Being single might look cool in TV shows or when portrayed by Zac Efron, but in reality and even in cinema, a single person isn’t really the healthiest of persons. They have a lot undergoing below the cool exterior and it doesn’t really take much to pierce through that. What is important to note is that while some people consider single life to trouble-free, or devoid of heartaches, the reality is different.

Maybe, you are remembering an old flame because of whom you are not with someone currently or maybe you have seen enough broken and unhappy relationships to not go down that road. But even while being single, you still do get hurt.

Here are 7 things which no single person can make it through, unhurt.

Social Media Posts

It seems as if the moment you take to social media, it is either marriage season or motherhood. But something or the other always takes place. You pretend to be happy, well you have to, but how long before your heart yearns for that? It doesn’t take someone incredibly romantic for that, as any normal human being would want to be involved in the thick of things with their loved ones.

Validation

This might be a doozy, for people usually like compliments thrown their way. But, in this scenario, when you are single and hear compliments like, “My daughter would have been perfect for you”, they will only serve to remind you that you are all alone and your idea of a family is imaginary.

Sought After By Someone You Don’t Like

Constitutes a large part of your single life. You don’t like this person, because all they do is text you at night asking “You Up?” But they are the only people who bother texting you, because guess what? Everyone else is in a happy relationship. Except you!

Family

Family isn’t your haven anymore. You have grown up- they hardly know you anymore. But, they do ask you if you are seeing someone- something you don’t even bother replying to. They don’t ask about your career or your life and it feels like your entire life is based on whether you have met someone or not.

Distressed Comments

One thing that irritates all single people is when the elders in your family talk about you as if you are diseased. They would converse in low tones and constantly refer to your emotional and mental well-being. While it feels good to be cared for, it doesn’t feel good when the person talks about you in front of you and doesn’t even care about asking your opinion on it. After all, it is your life.

Gossip

Whenever you do decide to go back into the game, you see someone, usually a relative, digging into that person and bringing up something that could be completely farcical. Yet, they never stop. You might be really excited about this person, but they will make sure to pour water over that. To add fuel to fire, they would suggest you someone, whom you might find to be the most dubious of them all.

Emotional Baggage

The last thing that will break you is yourself. You might put up a strong, icy exterior to everyone around you, but someday, sometime, you will break. And the outpour would make you feel the worst you have felt in a long time. Through your tears, you will find your confidence washing away. But you will probably feel better after you cry. Storing emotions inside is never going to help.

Well, try to not be single?
