Early Warning Signs of Breast Cancer That Every Woman Shouldn’t Ignore

Breast cancer can occur in both women and man, but it’s most typical cancer diagnosed in women. Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women during their lives, and the most important, the five year survival rate of breast cancer is over 90% when caught early.

Breast cancer starts when cells in the breast begin to grow with no control. The excessive cell growth affects the connective tissues, lobules, and glands responsible for producing breast milk. Left unchecked, those cells can form a tumor that can often be seen on an x-ray or felt as a lump.

Here is the list of how you could examine your breasts for cancer symptoms:

1. Unusual shape of nipples and discharge

This is the very first thing that a woman can actually notice if there is something wrong with their breasts. If there is an abnormality that can be seen in your nipples, then there is a possibility that there is a tumor growing inside it. The sudden discharge is also a sign of developing breast cancer.

2. Sudden weight loss

If you lose weight suddenly it may be because of loss of appetite or can indicate a lot of things and one of those is having breast cancer. Unexpected weight loss, like more than 10 pounds, can be an indication of breast cancer.

3. Uneven skin and itching

Uneven skin with the presence of itchiness and dimpling in the breast area might be a sign of breast cancer. If you also notice blue marks similar to hemorrhages and your skin looks scaly which is beyond what is normal, you have to consult your doctor immediately. These are some of the indications of cancer.

4. Check the history of breast lumps

You should be very careful if you have a history of breast lumps or cancer because there is a chance that you may experience them again.

5. High level of estrogen

High level of exposure to estrogen may also increase the risk of having breast cancer. This may be because of having periods at an early age, or being menopause later than usual. Remember, breastfeeding for more than one year helps in lessening the risk of having cancer of the breast because it lowers the estrogen levels.

You have to remember that if you notice even the little changes in your breasts might be the warning signs of a cancer. Be aware and do whatever it takes to prevent further damage to your entire health.
