1.Drink a lot of water

Water is everything. Always choose water instead of sugary beverages and make sure you drink it as much you can. Water will not only keep you hydrated but will also help you with weight management.

2.Cut back on sodium

89% of the world population eats too much sodium, and we’re not talking only about salt. A diet that contains too much salt can cause bloating and puffiness. Another bad thing is that sodium retains water.

3.Don’t go on a juice cleanse

Don’t go on juice cleanses and detox. Drinking only water and juices will set you up unhealthy eating habits and can cause your blood sugar levels to drop.

4.Don’t start banning foods

Cutting back certain foods and banning them isn’t the same. Diets that include banning certain foods lead to replacing those foods with other things that have the same role in our body.

5.Fill up with fibers

“Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants,” says writer Michael Pollan.
Fresh vegetables that contain a lot of fibers like bell peppers, broccoli, are also called powerhouse foods. These veggies are packed with vitamins, nutrients and fibers and will keep you full for a longer period of time.
“Whole, plant-based foods (fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, nuts, and seeds) are best. One quick way to add extra fiber to your day: sprinkle chia, hemp, or ground flax over whatever you’re eating for a boost,” says Bellatti.

6.Be aware of your portion size

Did you notice that the cups and plates we serve our food in are getting bigger and bigger? The average size of many foods has really grown over the years. Always be aware of your portion size and always choose smaller.

7.Don’t rely on pills and powders

Diet pills and powders are produced by processing whole foods and separating one ingredient.
When something is a powder, you’re probably using what, a teaspoon or tablespoon at most? And you have to wonder how much that can really do. Versus a cup of broccoli or a quarter cup of cashews. That’s something significant,” Bellatti said.

8.Don’t focus too much on your calories

Don’t obsess yourself with counting each and every calorie. Many foods that are low in calories are packed with sodium, which will eventually retain water and make you feel really bloated. Another thing you should remember is that it’s only healthy to lose 1-3 pounds every week.

9.Don’t expect miracles

Keep it real and don’t expect miracles overnight. Eating right for one week will not make you look like a super model and improve your health. Commit to treat your body well and focus on improving yourself. Results will come for those who don’t give up!
